Ask and you will receive!

Wow, my first event with Empower Network is now behind me. I ran out of words!

I share first what my whole journey coming here to Chicago has been like and what it has done to me and hopefully it will inspire you to do and be whatever you choose without any limits!

I have had problems with asking for help or money for years. For me it was equal of saying –I do not manage my life and I am weak. So very many times, I did not ask. I stayed in my pity and felt a failure. I know many people do that. But what if you would not? What would happen then?

1 week ago I joined Empower Network. 4 days later I came to the Chicago event by getting money for the travels through donations from friends all over the world! I arrived despite to the fact of the flood and bad weather. I got here. I took contact with a local friend, who offered me accommondation. How can it get better than this?

The first day was amazing, there was so much to take in, 5000 people – all kinds of cultures, nationalities, backgrounds. The event got going so much that it finished 2,5 hours later. I missed my train back.

There I was sitting in one of the hotel lobbys and asking in one of the women’s group for help online. 5 minutes later, there came a call from 2 women: Greta Marie Campagnolo Lisa Burnham to share their room with me. As the other days it was also very difficult with the transport, I stayed for 2 more nights!!! How amazing is this? What a gift!!

For me this was something amazing. I have not felt such kindness and such care for a long time. How amazing is this? I sent out a call and 5 minutes later, I was offered a kind solution? I was empowered – they were empowered. The task for the night was to see a dream and before falling asleep I thanked them for gifting me a dream. In the lobby I could not have slept at all.

chicagoeventstageIt reminded me that this same morning I suddenly got 2 tickets in the chase of one, as the tickets were sold out. I saw someone having problems with the ticket in the registration and donated the other ticket to the registration crew in case it was needed for someone. So what goes around, comes around! Be careful! It is dangerous to be kind!

What I learned from this is – never underestimate one act of kindness, as you never know when you gonna need one as well. Asking for me is not any more an act of poverty or weakness, it is about the courage to tell out loud what is it you need or what has happened. I just wonder what would the world be like if everyone would do that!???

Not only did I get a bed to sleep in, I even got to borrow the T shirt from one of the women: with a Inner Badass message! Wicked eh?
